I was in the hospital when Eddie passed. He was my best friend for a few years in our teenage years, that is until I fell for his sister, who left me standing there a long long time ago. Laurie and I went out separate ways and Eddie and I drifted apart. I went off to New York and they stayed in Connecticut. I treasure those days and the people I shared them with. I extend my condolences to all of Eddie's family and friends especially to Lisa, who I never met but should have, and to Laurie whom will always occupy a place a.c de in me heart. As for you Eddie, I will see you on the other side with Jimmy and Kevin.
Love from NYC

So, so sorry to hear about Ed. It won't be the same around the neighborhood without seeing him around and stopping to chat.

My sister Kim (McQuarrie) Hartz called me last night to share this very sad news. Although we hadn't spoken in a while, Eddie and I were very much each there for one another at several difficult times in our lives...and some good ones, too. I have loved this guy as a good friend since junior high school. His kindness, compassion, intelligence and sense of humor have meant a great deal to me through the years. Lisa, I'm sorry we have never had the chance to meet. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to. I am so sorry I cannot be with you on Monday to celebrate his life, but know that I am with you in Spirit. My love and sincerest sympathies to all. xo

Dear Lisa and family,
My heart is broken at the thought of not ever seeing Ed again in our neighborhood. He was always there for everyone, and made our community a better place to live. A great man, who I feel honored to have known all these years. He will be sadly missed.
My thoughts, prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with you.

Eddie. One of my favorite people ever! We had lots of laughs, you being such an affable and happy fellow. We've been apart for awhile, but we've always had our connection. I was with you at your house when the moon landing happened in 1969. You had a color TV! We had fun. Your old classmate Nancy, your old friend, my wife of nearly 50 years is there. Have a drink of wine together and salute the times, great times! Laurie, my heart goes out for you. I look forward to seeing you when we can reminisce. Gosh, what a wonderful fellow. RIP Eddie. God Bless you Laurie..........
