Morris- Mrs. Marjorie (Richards) Bellmay, 86, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 13. She was the wife of Robert C. Bellmay.

Mrs. Bellmay was born April 15, 1927 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Emil and Carrie (Dickinson) Richards. Raised in Thomaston she had attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School class of 1944. After high school she attended Becker College in Worcester, MA. She had worked for the American Brass Company and Lilac Hedges in Litchfield.

Active in the community she was a volunteer for the March of Dimes, M.A.D.D. and taught swimming lessons for over 35 years for the American Red Cross. She was a member of the former Northfield Congregational Church for 60 years and was currently a member of the Morris Congregational Church.  

In addition to her husband of 66 years she is survived by one son, Todd R. Bellmay and his wife Maureen of Morris; one daughter, Joyce S. Carr of Goshen; one sister, June Pennell of Barkhamsted; five grandchildren, Brooke Barbero, Joshua Barbero, Emily Bellmay, Tasha Bellmay and Landon Bellmay; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Nicole Basil and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lois Felladore and Carolyn Sanford.

The family would like to thank all of Marjorie’s care givers for all the wonderful care given to her over these last few years.

Arrangements: A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 23, at 4:00 P.M. at the Morris Congregational Church. Burial in Northfield Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
